Proof positive, the curent system is flawed. Gold should be the best of all types. I'd be happy with less gold drops and better and more useable items.

Typical group mission "wow you got a gold sword!!" "What are the stats??" "Crap..."

I can't tell you how many times I've said similar things ingame. It's gotten to the point where I sneak up on chests and just kind of eye them, wondering what kind of garbage I'm going to get this time. It's an adversarial relationship now.

Keys & chests are the same as the lottery and gambling. Law of averages dictates that eventually you'll get something you can use. But you may run out of gold several times trying. I have to admit the cards are stacked against us, and we can all thank the farming bots and those selling stuff on ebay. They ruined it for all of us.

Ok now I'm venting.. Time to go back to work, laters!

The problem really is that items like Staves, Rods, Focii and Shields have a MUCH MUCH MUCH higher chance of crap mods vs regular weapons.

Regular weapons' mods almost always have some correlation to the requirement.

A sword will never require anything other than swordsmanship.

LOL, as a tech I try not to speak in absolutes, the fastest way to find a problem in a program, is to go live..
